Coody in Dwarswegstrand, Great Brak River — December 2025

Dwarswegstrand · Great Brak River December 2025 Coody Familia Family of 4

Two weeks at Dwarswegstrand, right on the coast near Great Brak River, in the Coody Familia — and this family of four is already saying it wasn't enough. Give them another three months out here and they'd have taken it. Nothing came close to how the tent made the whole trip feel like home.

Right on the Beach

This wasn't a campsite with a distant sea view — it was a campsite on the beach. Unzip the door and the ocean was right there.

Set Up and Settled In

Paved stand, ocean on one side, the Familia fully open on the other. Two weeks was plenty of time to properly move in.

Built Like the Coast Means It

Sea air, salt, wind off the point — none of it bothered the Familia. The details held up as well as the big picture did.

Upgrading the Beds

Partway through the trip, the family moved their Coody King airbed and a Queen airbed into one room of the tent, freeing up the rest of the floor for the kids to play. The queen wasn't a Coody yet at the time of this trip — but they've since upgraded it too, because as they put it, nothing comes close to a Coody inflatable mattress. Nothing.

Evenings on the Point

Sunsets over the water, the tent lit up after dark — the kind of evenings that make you forget you're only halfway through the trip.

When the Weather Turned

Not every night at Dwarswegstrand was calm. The wind picked up hard off the point and the sky went from clear to heavy in no time — this is what that looked like from camp.

The wind got hectic that night — camp lights on, storm rolling in off the sea.
Through all of it, the Familia stayed put — lit up, dry, and steady.
